For my second version I used a zebra print jersey from Fabric.com. It cost a little over $14. I lengthened the sleeves a little more and left all of the edges unhemmed.
************************************************* Pattern Description: This pattern is for cardi-wraps with different front variations. I made the shortest version.
Pattern Sizing:This is available in sizes xxs-xl. I made a m (14-16).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy. This cardigan sews up quickly.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This pattern has been reviewed tons of times and I've always wanted to make it. I'm making a wardrobe based off of a RTW inspiration collection and one of the pieces was an ivory cardigan which closely resembles this version. No dislikes.
Fabric Used: I used a pointelle knit from Hancock Fabrics. It's wonderful! It's an a neutral ivory color and just the right weight to be comfortable in the warmer weather. I spent about $19 for the fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I intended on making full length sleeves instead of 3/4 length. However, I guess I miscalculated and ended up with 3/4 length sleeves... lol! Also, after reading other reviews, I tacked the back neck to the inside of the cardigan for about 4 inches. This causes the front of the cardigan to roll toward the inside slightly and it drapes really nicely.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! I would sew this again and would recommend it to others. I've worn this several times already with casual and dressy tops and it always looks and feels great.
Conclusion: Great addition to my closet that works with may different items and looks. Can't wait to make more!
