Spiffing! I love the fabric. Any reader interested in a similar dress with an interesting collar but using a more readily available pattern might be interested in Vogue 1171, a current Vintage Vogue pattern.

Looking at the exquisite photos of you wearing this dress, it is unthinkable that it almost made you cry, unless it was with sheer joy!! Another exquisite creation that suits you to a "T." So appreciated your mention of the disturbing email that asked you to wear white or khaki pants to an event--I got a summer job working at a marina and khaki pants are part of the uniform! I had to go buy some, not even some old pleated, pegged pair lurking at the bottom of a drawer :)
