I think your top looks very nice! I believe the love affair with this pattern is mostly because of it's low tech construction! Quick to make after fitting is resolved...even I had little trouble making a full bust adjustment and lengthening it! Your top looks great!

I LOVE this review for its humor. I feel your pain when the vision of wistful, lovely, breezy top becomes finished garment that feels like peds scrubs! Make it again. It fits you well and just needs drapey fabric. Look at the bright side. You used this fabric and it's a good muslin. You learned something and can now move on.
