Yes, the draw strings are functional - that's one of the reason I wanted to make this skirt and I know the picture isn't the best (too dark). Sorry about that.

I just made finished two black dresses, Kemish. Not only is it hard to photograph them, it is sometimes really hard to see what is going on when sewing them. I have this Burda Mag and plan to look this one up.
