I'm adding this to my wish list, as I have 3 boys, ranging from the smallest size to the largest-well almost the largest. Does it have all the sizes in one envelope? Its nice that you can make it out of flannel too-did you make any changes to get it over his head, or was there enough ease? Thanks for the review! 1/14/05 10:32 AM

Tessa said... I really like this pattern too. It's very versatile. I made lightweight fleece tops for my 9 and 13 year old nephews for Christmas, and I've just made the 13 year old a short sleeve v-neck with the colour blocking for his birthday. The v-neck is not very deep. I think it looks good. And Hilary, yes all the sizes are in one envelope. 1/14/05 10:43 AM
Lorna C. Newman said... Hilary, I did not make any changes to the pattern for the flannel. Just make sure you use a rib knit or something with stretch for the neckband. You can always deepen the V if need be. oNe change I did make was to the sleeve, but htis was just because of his cast. I left the seam open from about the midpoint down as the absence of stretch made it too tight to get over the cast. Once his arm is free, I will sew up that seam and add ribknit to the hem of both sleeves. Also, all KS patterns are multi sized, so you always get S-XL in the envelopes. Often for the kids patterns, there are separate patterns for the toddlers (T1 -T4) and the kids sizes (6-12). So, if the kiddies are really small, you can buy both and have the full range of those patterns. There are also KS books for babies, toddlers and children that have master patterns and instructions for a whole gamut of basic clothes in knit and wovens. 1/14/05 11:08 AM
