good to know about the piping- YOUR dress looks amazing. I am new to sewing- picked up this pattern because I liked to look... but think I better wait a few months to attempt this. (I better start off with a "simplier" Simplicity pattern. lol

I left off the piping; this started out as a muslin for a silk version of the dress a few months ago. (I decided to make a different one and packed this away partially finished.) I think it's fine without the piping.

Was the piping excessive? I feel a bit uneasy about having that much trim. Won't it make the dress too stiff?
