Wow-I'm impressed- you actually finished them! I tried once to make gloves, and quickly decided life was *too* short! LOL . Yours look great!

Oh Ann, your gloves are soo amazingly beautiful!!! WOW! Thank you for reviewing this pattern. Maybe, I will give these a go- Do you think that it would be easier to machine stitch or hand stitch this pattern? Or does it really make a difference? Thanks again.

Thanks for the review, Ann. Knowing how much I love my own RTW stretch velvet gloves (leopard print, too), I thought these would be great Christmas presents for all of "the girls" (sisters, SILs, nieces), but after reading your review, I think not. Too bad.

Sharp and very elegant gloves! Ann, you sound like you have the patience of a saint! : - ) Your gloves came out beautifully!

I bought this pattern thinking I might someday make gloves for myself. I have enormous hands and usually have to wear Men's XL, there aren't any nice fashionable gloves that fit me. I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, but its helpful to know what I'd be getting into.

I picked up this pattern during the last Joann's sale thinking, "how hard could this be?" After skimming the directions, I realized this is surely not a pattern for beginners. Thanks for steering me clear of hours (months!) of frustration. Yours are beautiful, though.

Ann -- just today I wondered, as I pulled on my gloves and noticed all the seaming, "Why would anyone want to sew their own gloves?" Now I know -- yours are gorgeous -- and one of a kind!! Nice job!

ooh ooh ooh these are great! I have been looking at this pattern but thought it might be fussy. Even so - these are wonderful. Great job and great review. Thanks

Boy, they sure are elegant. I guess I'm lucky that we really don't need gloves in in So Cal.

Ann, I just bought the KwikSew glove pattern. I wonder if it is any 'easier'? Still has 1/8" seams, which would have to be for a glove pattern to work. But i wonder if you could do it with a tight 3 thread serger seam? I guess I will find out one of these days....meanwhile I love all the different versions in this pattern. I can see why you fell for it. Nice job, love your treatment.

Gorgeous gloves, Gorgeous! Now we know why well-made gloves are soooo expensive--and why the family name Glover still exists.

I do feel humbled by you braving this pattern actually... Some time ago Ilost one glove from a leather set and decided to unstitch the one I had left and use the pattern... That is , iuntil I relized how many gussets there are and that I would go insane before I even go thru half of the work. Anyway, after all the work, enjoy yours!!!

wow, I was looking forward to someone reviewing this... I love how yours turned out, however, I won't be making those anytime soon! I am not cut out for glove-sewing!

Wow, what a gorgeous pair of gloves! I'm with Jennifer...it might be just as easy to hand stitch them. I'm thinking...a zip lok bag with the gloves and needle for those unuseable times like waiting on your kids at the dentist...at the orthodontist...at practice...but maybe there are way too many iddle bitty pieces for that to be practical. Oh, well -- at least you can say you've done that! ;)

What great gloves! I can't imagine sewing with 1/8" seam allowances. It must have taken a TON of patience to finish those, but it was well worth it.

Your gloves look beautiful. And congratulations on having enough will and patience to finish them. Very impressive!

Gorgeous! Congratulations on having the patience to finish them, and so beautifully too. You have confirmed that this is a clothing item I will continue to buy RTW.

BEautiful gloves, Ann. as always, you do stunning work. But if they were hard for you, I'm not even trying them!

LOL -- Now I know what NOT to try! Thanks for this review, Ann. They are just stunning, but life is too short & I'm not a spring chicken anymore! (I don't think my eyes can see a 1/8" seam!)

I am so glad you reviewed this. I've been wondering making a pair of gloves would be something to try (I was thinking on the line of windblock fleece, not something beautiful like yours). Now I know that I don't want to try this, at least not yet.

How did I miss these earlier? Very nice gloves Ann. From the pattern description I could tell that this is a very difficult project but you've never shied away from any so why this one ;-) Great gloves.

You know, I've always wondered about making gloves. Now I know it's not for me! No wonder it was a stand alone speciality before mass maufacturing. Shakespeare's father was a glovemaker.

Hah! Ann! I missed this review earlier. I just reviewed a pair of gloves, so I can totally relate to your frustration level in making these. You did a wonderful job, and I know the patience it took to finish the job!

When I saw your photo, I thought, "You've got to be kidding--she actually MADE those?" You deserve a few more stars for this project.

What an amazing and impressive project, Ann! I have that pattern too, but I doubt I'll ever get around to making them, especially after your warnings! :)

I have long narrow hands so I can never find gloves that fit. Womens gloves are too short, mens are too wide. So I am actually thinking about making some gloves. And I enjoy a challenge..... Would soft fine leather be OK for these gloves? The recommended fabrics are all stretch fabrics, but leather stretches a little...... Juliette

Juliette, I think you probably could make these with a very soft leather like lambskin or kidskin. I'll reiterate that it takes a lot of patience, but if you go slowly, you'll get good results. If you make these, please review them and let us know what you think! -Ann
