Pattern Description: This is a pattern for a pleated front, shawl collar cardigan or vest. I made the cardi.
Pattern Sizing: A huge range of sizes, Jalie's own sizing--I made AA. This is tight fitting with very narrow seams, so be careful about the sizing.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, there are helpful diagrams too.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is a tight-fitting cardigan, very long, which was what I was looking for. I like the pleats in the front and they weren't hard to do, once the fabric was marked clearly. Other than the pleats and the hem, the entire thing was done on the serger. The only thing I didn't particularly like were the 1/4 inch seams. These are tiny and you have to be very careful especially when crossing seams. I recommend not using cut-in notches to mark the fabric since you run the danger of having these reach through the seamline.
Fabric Used: A black, light-weight polyester knit, very drapey.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Others have remarked on the tightness of the sleeve and I found this too (it's also clear from the pattern photo). I was using a light fabric and wanted that look but if you're planning to wear long sleeves under this or your arms are bulky, you will need to widen the sleeves. I recommend comparing the pattern to other cardigans you have that fit you well. The sleeves are also cut very long.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have lots of these shawl collar cardigans (but none in black) so I doubt I'll make it for me. (These are in style now, but are likely to fade in popularity in the future.) I do recommend it and may make one for my daughter.
Conclusion: This is a tight-fitting, long drapey cardigan or vest with a pleated front, shawl collar. Be careful about the size, especially the sleeves.

Great review. Thanks for all of the sizing tips as I plan to make this in the very near future.
