| This is the second time I have made a top from this pattern. A couple of years ago I made View A (wrap shirt, collar, cuffs). This time I made view E (sleeveless cowl-neck top). Pattern Description:
Cowl-necked sleeveless top
Pattern Sizing:
I cut and sewed an 18, which is spot on my measurements (per the pattern envelope) except for my waist which is smaller. But it does not matter that much for this style top.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It looks really nice! A versatile wardrobe staple, as I noted in my review of View A I'm not sure why I had not made this (or the other) views yet.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes--this is a really simple top. It would be a nice garment to learn seam binding on.
Fabric Used:
Yuwa silky dots, blue/purple (I obviously chose blue to be the RS of my garment) left over from a napkin project a few years ago. Its cotton, but really feels like silk. Hooray for machine washability! I bought it at Purl in Soho, NY several years ago.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added 3" length where indicated in the pattern. Once I tried it on after finishing the shoulders and sides, I decided that the back neck should slope forward around my neck better. There probably would be a way to curve the back neckline and make adjustments beforehand, but this being my first try at View E I did not know it. Instead I adjusted the shoulder seams to take in the extra fabric and help the front lie correctly. I think it is not perfect, but I got a good look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes! I have another piece of the Yuwa silky dots in red/burgandy (its an interesting fabric that has white polkadots on both sides but red on one side and burgandy on the other) and am debating making the same top in the red. Decisions decisions!

This top looks really nice in the thumbnail, but I can't get the full size version or the pattern info up.
