| Pattern Description:
Girls dress, two variations. Lined bodice, panel skirt, A-line with option of gore inserts to make it really twirly. With or without cap sleeves.
Pattern Sizing:
Girls 3 to 8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Sure did! The first time I made this pattern I used simlar fabrics and ribbons to match the photo on the front of the pattern. First Dress
The second time I used a gorgeous border-print fabric. It's not heavy but fairly firm, with almost a sateen finish. No idea what it is, as I picked it up in a fabric market in Hong Kong. I made a brooch from a plastic sunflower to match the fabric, which is removable for washing. This dress works very well with a border print. (View A) Second Dress - Border Print
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very straight forward. My first lined bodice, and it wasn't hard at all.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love a pattern that works with a border print fabric.
I like the way this dress looks like a 'big girl' dress while still being quite modest. It's got a fairly formal feel without being all frills and bows. And the tiny mock bust-darts give a sweet shape to the bodice, again while staying modest and age-appropriate.
Fabric Used:
First dress was a fairly light cotton, second dress was a heavier border print cotton. Both worked equally well.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, with four nieces I will be sewing more of these. I'm going to try View B with the skirt inserts this Christmas. Highly recommended to others.

This is lovely: a perfect dress for a little girl that's not so little any more. Great fabric/pattern match!
