Semi-fitted pullover blouse with contrast Peter Pan collar and elbow-length sleeves
Pattern Sizing:
0-16 - I sewed a 4
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I found the pattern slightly difficult to cut out due to the large number of sizes shown on each piece. However the instructions were well written and easy to follow.
Fabric Used:
Silk - what a nightmare! I cut it out with tissue underneath to reduce slipping but it was still difficult. I used french seams throughout to minimise fraying but even so, the fabric was very slippery and it was difficult to keep it accurate. I used tissue to press which helped but it just wasn't an easy fabric to work with.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None - the pattern is a brilliant design with a side zip fastening that is unobtrusive. The fit is lovely and the construction is logical and fairly simple. There are three design in one pattern pack, which make this a versatile and good value for money pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely sew it again but in a different fabric. My sewing skills just aren't up to silk at the moment - I'm still traumatised! I also think the fabric was just too flimsy to sustain the pattern. A zip closure on silk isn't ideal and the french seams were lovely and tidy but make the seams feel bulky to me.
Conclusion:
This is my second Sewaholic pattern (I also have the Renfrew) and I'm a convert. The sizing is good and the construction is logical and well thought out. I also love getting 3 design from one pattern!
What a pretty blouse! You did a lovely job with a very difficult fabric.

What a beautiful colour! It suits you really well. I love wearing silk, but sewing it is another matter!
