Pattern Description: Made pattern A for Ren fest. This was my first major sewing project and first time ever sewing clothes.
Pattern Sizing: small
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? The dress did, although the dress needs a hoop skirt or pedicoat to make the dress more full. The hat did NOT turn out anything like the pattern. The bodice did not come out as snug fitting as the picture, but I was ok with that.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked how everything came together and it was fairly easy.
Fabric Used: silk for the skirt, raw silk (my curtains that I didn't like) for the bodice, and the blouse was chiffon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The bodice was too "tall" for me so I had to move the grommets to fit my frame (I am 5") Also, I used the hat, but wrapped it around a headband using a glue gun and added pearls to make a frenchhood-looking piece. Also, I added a hoop skirt to make the dress really full.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes
Conclusion: Nice dress, the blouse does not stay tucked into the skirt, a lot of compliments at the faire
