Pattern Description:
Pull-on skirts have six curved panels (no side seams), flounce on bottom edge, and elastic in casing at waist. Pattern Sizing:
XS to XL Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, but it would come down to my ankles if I had not significantly shortened it. I am about 63 inches tall. I blogged about it here Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, Kwik Sew's instructions are clear. However, their method of basting the pieces together before sewing the overlapping seams was more work than necessary. In my second version, I used a soap sliver on the lower fabric to mark the placement of the upper fabric. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the curves, the casual look, and the flounce. Fabric Used:
I used medium-weight brown linen for the first, and a green-blue rayon/wool (80/20) blend which I had put through the washer and dryer) for the second. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened it 6 inches. Not easy, considering that every piece is curved, and each curve is unique. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I made it twice, the second time only because of the amount of work involved in adjusting the length. I feel finished with this pattern now. Conclusion:
It is a well-drafted pattern for a casual skirt. For someone who likes her skirts 34 inches long. Or is willing to invest a lot of time to shorten it. |

Nice skirt! Kudos to you for figuring out how to shorten it. I would definitely not have the patience!

I have been thinking of making a patchwork skirt and yours is really cute. I may have to give this pattern a try since I actually do like my skirts 34" or longer. I looked at your blog and would love to hear more about your pocket collection. I am always looking for new pocket designs.

Thanks for your compliments. I'm a bit behind with blogging my garment projects; will get caught up soon. Thanks again!
