Pattern Description: Double-layer twirl skirt and Mod Blooms applique template.
Designed with the beginner sewist in mind, Julia is a sweet set that is as easy to sew as it is to wear. There are no zippers, buttons or snaps to apply; just a couple of casings. The double-layer super twirly skirt can be made with or without the drawstring detail and fuller or slimmer as desired. An applique template for the Mod Blooms is also included, along with detailed applique instructions, for those who wish to add extra
Pattern Sizing: Sizes 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6 and 7, I made a size 6 for my sprouting niece!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Absolutely, this pattern is very easy to follow and comes together fairly quickly. The ruffles look intimidating, but in all honesty, it was much easier than I anticipated.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to follow instructions and detailed pictures to help guide you through the process.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the simplicity of it, and it becomes a great way to highlight those fabrics you can't help but fall in love with. Although I didn't use a printed fabric this time, I actually think it highlights the polka dots on the underskirt!
Fabric Used: I used what I think might be a cotton sateen, it is has a little "shine" on one side and matte on the other. The underskirt is, I have no clue. A cream coloured cotton, with red polka dots.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added the casing to the outside of the overskirt for contrast, so, atypical for me, I actually did that on purpose.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Try to stop me from creating armies of this skirt. It's easy to make, doesn't use up a ton of fabric and looks like I spent days working on it!
Conclusion: It's in my LOVE stack!

That is so cute! Wish I had seen it last week when I was looking for two layered flouncy skirt patterns. I'll bet your niece will adore it!

I made this pattern in a 2t and turned out so cute. However when on the child she looked like one of the munchkins in the "Wizard of Oz" a very short person with a very wide skirt:)

Ha! Yes, I made this pattern in a smaller size for when my niece was about 3 years old and the fullness of the skirt is a little overwhelming. I think if I were to make a smaller size again, I would make the "slim" version.

good idea making the slim version for a smaller child. I found some disney fairy fabric on sale and have no idea what to do with it so might consider a slim version of this pattern. thanks for the suggestion.
