Pattern Description:Designed as a leather accented jacket great for fall, and is so edgy! Semi-fitted jacket has many panels and seams, and a zipper front closer. It has a high collar for warmth and beautifully fitted sleeves that don’t add bulk.

Pattern Sizing: Plus Size Burda sizes 44 through 52

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not really as I did not use leather, zipper closure or put on the collar jacket photo

Were the instructions easy to follow? I feel the steps were in a good order. Burda is skimpy on directions. As this is an advanced pattern, it is assumed that the sewer has knowledge of required information. I did make a muslin of the pattern to make sure it fit before cutting and sewing the purchased fabric

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I did not care for the lining as there were almost the same number of pieces for the inside as the outside. I love the look and feel of the fitted sleeves. The jacket feels so comfy when I put it on.

Fabric Used: Polyester Faux Wool Twill purchased at Joannes with my 60% off coupon. I needed 2 1/2 yards of fabric for my jacket. The inside is polyester lining fabric purchased at Fabric Mart.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did not install the zipper as my fabric was dusty rose and I was not able to find a coordinating seperating zipper in an acceptable color. Five buttons were used for the front closure. I'm going to sew a snap onto the bottom band. I decided not to sew on the collar (I wasn't going for the outerwear look) I plan to wear this jacket to work with slacks.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I may sew it again in a nice wool with matching slacks for a suit. I also think this jacket would look great in denim and wool.

Conclusion: I purchased this pattern on Burdastyle.com as soon as I saw it in September because I loved it and wanted to challenge myself. When barebear made her great jacket for the Refashion contest, I had started and used her tips to get finished. There were a lot of pages to print because the download pattern also includes pieces for style 136, 137 and 138. I cut the pattern pieces on the size line and pinned them to plain muslin and then traced on 5/8" seam allowance. Also, I sewed the seams from the bottom up and everything lined up perfectly. Next time, I'll cut the bottom band when it's time to sew it on so I can make sure it's long enough. The facings are finished with a colorful bias tape to cover the raw edges. Inside Because I used buttons and made buttonholes, I lost partial use of one of the front pockets because the buttonhole is on top of part of the pocket. Overall, I'm satisfied with my jacket and will enjoy wearing it.

Oh I love your version! It looks great in one solid fabric and without the collar! I really like your colourful bias tape on the inside too. Lovely lovely job! (Now I want another version in a solid colour. :D)
