Pattern Description:
5316 Babies Separates
Babies' Overall, Jacket, or Vest, Pants, Knit Top and Hat Pattern Sizing:
XXS through to Large (corresponding from 1 month to 18 months according to the pattern envelope back.)
These pants were made in the medium size 7 months ago (an earlier photo is on my flickr account) and still fit my (fairly lean) 18 month old toddler now (yay for elastic waisted pants for toddlers!) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except in a more boyish version! Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very much so.
My major lesson, however, is to apply appliqués/patches to the knees before sewing up the side seams of the pants. The pattern specifies this, however, in my ignorance I decided to apply patches later and learnt that toddler pant legs don't actually fit over the sewing machine arm. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
A great versatile pattern, I've also made the fleece hoodie from this pattern which worked well (will try to post that soon.) Fabric Used:
Pinwhale corduroy. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lowered the waistline at the front by about 2cm to sit below the tummy. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes, this is a great pattern. Conclusion:
Highly recommended.
