Pattern Description:
Connie Crawford princess line blouse with 2 collar views and 3 sleeve lengths. The pattern description suggests mixing and matching the pieces.
I adjusted the collar using Pattern Magic and made the "collar with 2 distinct expressions". Pattern Sizing:
xs - xl Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did. My previous version had the wrong sleeve length and I forgot to adjust the sleeve so the sleeves are a bit poufy, like a marshmallow. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they were.
I've used a bias strip to finish the back collar, instead of using the facing. I'm not a fan of facings What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The princess seams and classic styling is great and can be manipulated.
While this blouse is semi fitted, I prefer my tops to be more fitted - if that makes sense. Fabric Used:
An eyelet cotton that is soft and a bit drapy.
I wanted to use this light weight fabric because I need some long sleeve tops to wear in the summer that safeguards me from mozzies. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I've done the following adjustment to fit:
Roll shoulder adjustment.
Raised the shirt up at the shoulders because I'm short.
Took out excess in the sleeve head.
Took in the back princess lines to fit me. Here is the write up about the changes.
The double collar sits flat and it looks kinda plain, so on the next version I'll interface all the collar pieces so the top collar stands up. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will at some point. Two blouses are enough for now, unless I find a great eyelet fabric. I will use this for a basic blouse for others, like my mum.
I would recommend this pattern for a work blouse or a blouse you want to adjust or restyle. Conclusion:
If you want a TNT blouse, try this one. I like this Connie Crawford style.
