Close fitting dress has V-shaped neckband, front seaming deetails, topstitching and side invisible zip. View B has sleeve bands with topstithing. Pattern Sizing:
8 - 16 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It most certainly did. Here's a link to my write up. Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were and I've a couple of easier construction options for you. 1. Don't add in the zipper. It's a ponte knit. 2. Treat the neck band like a bodice piece. Sew the outer neck bands on while constructing the front the back bodice pieces. 3. Topstitch using the same coloured thread to the fabric so that if you're stitching strays. It won't be as noticeable. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the front seaming and the close fit of this dress.
I also like how plain the back dress is.
The centre back and centre front seaming helps shape this dress to your body. That's got to be a plus! Fabric Used:
Ponte fabric. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the sleeves and hem; did a roll shoulder adjustment; a sway back adjustment and that was it for the first try.
When I sewed up the dress I took out more shaping in the centre back and centre front seams.
It's all sitting nicely without feeling like a night clubbing dress.
That said, you could sew this up as a night clubbing dress. I dare you too Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes. You'll see the winter and summer versions here.
I'm thinking of using a lighter coloured fabric above the waist with a darker fabric below the waist for another version. Conclusion:
This a great dress for ponte lovers. I wore it to work and it didn't crease.
