Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This is the only pattern I could find with the type of bag I was looking for. I like that it was constructed using prequilted fabric. However, I did not like having to encase all of the seams. This was a challenge especially in those areas that were very thick (intersecting seams containing four layers of quilted fabric and two encased seams.). I used a trick I learned in the Tailoring Ready-to-Wear class on Craftsy.com-- I hammered the thick seams flat. The class instructor uses this technique for thick seams in denim but I found it worked exceptionally well in this case too.

Prequilted cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made my own bias tape out of a faux suede looking fabric for a better color match. I also ran out of fabric due to forgetting the fact that I would need additional yardage in order to match the pattern repeats in the chosen fabric. To remedy this, I only cut two of the bottom oval pattern piece from the quilted fabric. For the bag insert I used the faux suede fabric with a thick almost cardboard-like fusible interfacing , sewing it right sides together to one of the prequilted ovals (the other was used for the bottom of the bag), turned inside out and top stitched around the edged.

Also, I did not like the inner pocket because it flops open. Some type of closure would remedy this.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? yes if there is a need and yes.
Update 4/1/13 My mother-in-law carries this bag all the time. She has returned it to me twice. The first time was to shorten the straps. Should I find it necessary to sew this pattern again I will find how to make the strap adjustable. The second time was to add some type of closure. This time I sewed a rectangular piece of Velcro to the upper center front and center back. The next time I sew this pattern I will consider using a closure such as a zipper. This way I can insert it during the construction process.

Conclusion: I like that this bag has straps that attach to a walker as well as a detachable shoulder strap. I do wish that there were more pockets on the inside of the bag and an exterior pocket that could accommodate a water bottle. I made this bag for my mother-in-law to take with her to dialysis. I really hope she finds the design of this bag to be useful.
