Pattern Description: Lined dresses A, B, close-fitting with tapered hem in two lengths have front and back darts, back slit, back zipper and sleeve with pleats.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?Extremely. There is nothing whatsoever challenging about the construction. It consists of a total of 4 pieces. I would recommend making the front facing a few inches longer. It's very skimpy at approximately 2" and tries very hard to flip up on the inside.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's an unfussy dress with simple classic lines. Bonus - it's also very comfortable.
Fabric Used:Wool boucle covered with tiny sequins from Mood and tricot knit lining. It's very sweatery and cosy but it does add a bit of bulk. The sequins are very tiny - much more so than the photo indicates.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I omitted the zipper since my fabric was a knit and had enough ease to wiggle in and out of. In hindsight, a zipper was probably a better idea since pulling it over your head musses your hair.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? It's a pretty distinctive style so I probably will not sew it again, although I highly recommend it.
This is a pattern I've been eyeing up for a while even though it's not had more than a few reviews. I initially planned on its being my LBD contest entry but when I came across this fabric on the Mood website I changed gears. I have a rtw skirt from an almost identical fabric and have nearly worn it out. While it's a great evening look, I couldn't imagine wearing it during daylight hours so it did not meet the contest guidelines. No worries - you can never have too many LBD's in my opinion!
