Shirt pattern with two sleeve lengths and two hemlines
Pattern Sizing:
Multi-sized. I thought I could use the Large, but maybe should have used XL as my pleat doesn't stay flat
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
More or less. The pleat was a bit of a challenge. But it really went together nicely, as all Kwik Sew do.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I LOVED the asymmetrical hem of view B. No dislikes.
Fabric Used:
I found this linen-like plaid on the Spot-A-Dot clearance at Hancock's. It was $2.50/yard, plus an extra 20% off that day. Wohoo!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None. I just used view A sleeve on view B. No big deal. In the future, I will make a longer sleeve with a deep hem because I like to wear shirt sleeves rolled up.
I messed up cutting the plaid the first time. It is important to match to the CENTER line. I was able to salvage it so the plaid looks good.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Actually, my friend's 15-yo daughter has been wanting me to show her how to sew.She loved the shirt, so we will use this pattern. She is a perfectionist so starting out with a nice even plaid will teach her MANY things, especially patience
Conclusion:
I got a lot of compliments on this one. It was definitely a case of the fabric being an awesome choice for the pattern. This was a lot of fun to make and pretty quick. It would be quicker in a solid or print that didn't need to be matched.
