| Pattern Description: Slightly flared-leg, semi-fitted through the hip, contour waistband and welt pockets.
Pattern Sizing: This pattern runs true to size. I made an almost straight size 10, and I am a size 10 (Aus) or 6 (US) in RTW pants.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are good and this is the second time I have made these pants, but I still managed to get the pocket bags wrong, so there was no opening! This was easily fixed.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the fit on me. Last time I made these I allowed for all sorts of adjustments, then wrote on the pattern "Next time cut a straight size 10" !!
My only slight dislike is that the zip is a little too close to the CF.Next time, I will move it over a few more mm. Fabric Used:A nice quality navy linen. I underlined them with some purple(!) silk organza Inside view to try to reduce wrinkling, but I don't think it helps much. A photo of me, showing the wrinkles after having worn them briefly for these photos Here
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added 1cm extra room (width) at the top of the pants and waistband, and reduced the flare at the bottom. I am 160cm (5'3") tall and only occasionally wear a small heel, so I think less flare is good for me.
I left off the pockets at the front.
For the waistband, I used David Coffin's method for attaching cuffs ("Burrito method") as described in his shirt-making book to attach the waistband and get a neat inside at the front. Inside front Back showing welt pockets Back on me Front, nicely pressed
Please note, I won't be wearing these pants with a singlet top tucked in like this - this is just to show the fit!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Since I love the fit straight out of the packet, I hope to sew these again. I would recommend this pattern, but everyone is so different when it comes to pants fit.
Conclusion: A much-needed pair of summer pants!

Fantastic...lovely fit and beautiful linen. Don't worry about the wrinkles. Those of us in the know recognise it as part of the inherent beauty of the fabric! This pattern is my fav too. Like you, I made a straight size with NIL alterations other than for my (lack of) height.

Beautiful, beautiful pants! The silk might not prevent wrinkling but it adds some lovely body to the linen. The color and style are perfect for you. Right out of the envelope? I'm green. A perfect fit! Thanks for showing the inside. It's so helpful.

These look so beautifully constructed. Thanks for a helpful review. I've only done jeans so far so this might be a great trouser pattern to try.
