Pattern Description: Tiramisu: a knit dress with a surplice front, underbust gathers and kimono sleeves, midriff section and half-circle skirt with side seam pockets
Pattern Sizing: I made a sz40D
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they are fantastic, very easy to follow and the construction method makes a very neat inside
Fabric Used: Lightweight rayon knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened the dress into a top, made the wrap top tighter and halved the height of the midriff band (I have a short waist and it was just too long on me)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes, it would make a fantastic pattern for someone new to sewing knits
Conclusion: This is the first pattern from Cake and is actually a dress but I shortened it off into a top (I need tops more than dresses at the moment!).
It went together really easily, I love the sizing and how easy it is to adjust for your own size. I originally made a 45D which was erring on the larger side of my measurement and it ended up too big, 40D is pretty much exactly my measurements and it fits really well, I had a tad of gape at the centre front so sewed it a bit tighter and its fine now.
The bust line is sitting too high in these pics, I think if it had the full skirt the weight of it would have pulled it down to sit better. If I make another top I'll add an inch to the bodice length.
All in all a really comfortable dress/top, easy to wear and easy to sew!

Wow, you're speedy! My pattern arrived today. This looks nice. I also have a short waist so will take your tip about watching the width of the band. Thanks for the review - you are so organised!
