Pattern Description:
Princess seamed, collarless jacket with side panels and centre back shaped seam. Boxy Chanel style.

Pattern Sizing:
36-44. I made a 42.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it terms of the silhouette.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Only in the same sense that Burda instructions are ever okay. Sherry's tailoring sew along got me through!

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a classic Chanel style jacket with a bit of shaping. I had grand plans of make a spring boucle jacket. This was the trial garment. I'ts now summer.. oh well, there is always next year!
Some small changes I would make with the next version are probably relating more to fit and sizing on me. I am familiar with Burda's sizing, and this is a loose fit.

Fabric Used:
The fashion fabric is a French navy and ivory reversible jacquard polyester cotton blend. Cutting out and pattern matching was challenging...

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made this jacket with long sleeves (like in the full length coat versions of this style 03-2012-110) rather than the three quarter length sleeves.
I added buttons and button holes to the front ( I added a small overlap), rather than the traditional unbuttoned fringed trim look.
I used small raglan shoulder pads.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, next spring it should get made again. I am not sure I will be disciplined enough to stick with this plan though.. there are too mnay cute jacket patterns out there.

Conclusion:
A great classic jacket. Not to difficult to put together and very easy to wear. I made a pencil skirt too, so I have eye dazzling suit, or two great separates. There are more photos on the blog.

I see what you mean about pattern matching! All worth it in the end though.
