Pattern Description:
Long sleeve blouse with center front flounce.
Pattern Sizing:
Misses sizes 36-44
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it did!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a very basic blouse. The pattern has just three pieces- front, back and sleeve. To get the flounce effect, you just put the fronts wrong sides together, and sew down the center front line. Nothing to it!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was looking for a simple blouse with an interesting detail, and this fit the bill. It has a center seam in the Back with darts for a nice shape.
Fabric Used: Black silk charmeuse with cream polka dots.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I forgot to leave the side seam open for the slits, but would do that next time. I also didn't use a bias strip for the back neck edge. It is so short that I just narrow hemmed that area. Here is a Side View.
I did not add any length, which is unusual for me. If you are average height, you may find that you'll want to shorten it. I also did not have to do a FBA on this one, which is unusual also.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I love this top. It is comfy, but has some shape, and was super simple to sew. I think it would be cute from a plaid flannel for a more casual winter top. You can see all pics on my Blog Post.

Very pretty. What a clever way to form a flounce!

That looks great Annie! Really like that such an elegant blouse has only three pieces!! Going to investigate now!

Oooh, I LOVE this! Thanks so much for bringing the pattern to my attention. I must have looked right past it in the issue. Anyway, yours is soooo lovely. The fabric is wonderful, and you have sewn it so beautifully!

I also admired this pattern. I guess it's not possible to tuck this into the waist of a skirt? Your whole ensemble is lovely!

I saw this again today and absolutely love it. It reminds me of why I wanted to make this blouse up when I first saw it in the mag so thank you for the inspiration. This is absolutely lovely!
