Pattern Description:
From pattern jacket: Loose fitting, unlined vest or jacket has yoke front, collar or hood, with or without sleeve and inseam pockets; all garments have stitched hems; vest A, jacket B, vest D and jacket E have front zipper closures; jacket C and F are pullover
Pattern Sizing:
Multi-sized. I made XXL. Not sure if they fit because these are Christmas gifts.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Sort of. I modified a couple of things.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Mostly. The pockets are rather a lot to fiddle with.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
As much of a pain as they were, I know my friend's twins will like the pockets, especially the MP3 player pocket.
I dislike the time to be precise so pockets would line up properly.
Fabric Used:
These are for my friend's special needs twin boys. Their family has a monkey moniker, so when I saw sock-monkey fleece, I was excited.
Unfortunately, there was only 1-3/4 yards of the darker fleece. I thought I could get by making a different yoke and ended up using the contrast for a side panel as well.
There was enough of the other fleece.
I decided to use a synthetic suede for pocketsand binding for the front zipper edge.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut of the front seam allowances and cut 2" strips to bind front zipper edge.
Top of zipper
I thought I wanted to make knit cuffs but didn't like them. So, instead, (since I had already cut off 2" for cuff ) I used the cream faux suede to create a sleeve band.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Probably. I realized when I pulled out the patter and found only the instructions....grrrr! Run to Hancocks for $1.99 pattern...that I had already used this pattern for them before. So I must have liked it then.
Give yourself extra time for the pockets and this is a nice pattern.

I'm not sure who's having more fun, the sewist or the recipients! Great jackets!
