Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but you might not need them because this pattern is so simple and uncomplicated to do. I didn't really use them to be honest but I read them over. I would say that on the sleeves for me personally, I prefer to pull them down through the opening for turning and stitch them together and then pull it back through into place in the garment rather than fold under and topstitch. You can topstitch after the fact or just leave it. You can also turn up the cuffs.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked everything about it.
Very inexpensive and a simple download with just a few pieces of paper to tape together.
For wovens, I recommend shaving a bit off the sleeve cap if you have trouble easing. The pattern seemed very well drafted and as other reviewers have stated about popolok patterns, everything goes together flawlessly.
I also used the two reversible thread colors in top and bobbin when topstitching so the colors were correct on each side.
Fabric Used:
Baby Cord and AP fleece.
I confess to only having bought fleece a few times in my life but it is quite easy to sew with.
The mom that got this coat as a gift doesn't like wool bc the whole family is allergic... So I improvised.
I very much recommend downloading this project. The price is very low and the coat well worth trying out.
I have a reversible vintage coat pattern from the sixties for adults that looks exactly like this only much bigger of course - so it is definitely a cool classic!
It's cute. I like the pattern range too.
