| Pattern Description: Misses dress with tuck details
Pattern Sizing:14-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I think so. Red Dress
Were the instructions easy to follow? The dress was easy enough to construct. In fact, I decided on Saturday afternoon that I wanted to make this dress for an event I was planning to attend on Sunday afternoon. I liked that it was only 6 pieces and no zipper. I had the red jersey knit in my stash given to me by my daughter a few weeks earlier (I had designs on creating this Michael Kors inspired garment originally). I will say that it took far longer to make this than it should have. The first reason was my fault - I had "pinned" the tucks on the front bodice and sewn this which was VERY time consuming, until it hit me that I could just transfer the lines with a basting stitch, and follow that, pull out the basting when I was done! Wahlah, it worked like a charm. The second delay was not really my fault. The instructions for putting in the neck and armhole facings made no sense to me the first 5 times I read them. But when I finally realized how the thing should look when finished, it was quite simple. That could have been my fault too when I think about it- LOL. ANYWAY, I finished the dress at 2:17. I was leaving for the event at 2:45! LOL.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I liked, what I thought would be the simplicity of the garment's creation.
Fabric Used: I used a jersey knti, fairly lightweight for this one.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I didn't realize how popular this pattern was until I started to post this review. I think there were about 26 other posts. Clearly this is a popular dress. I think I will sew this again. I saw a beautiful purple ponte knt at Hancocks and as soon as my sale coupon is good, I plan to get that. While the jersey is fine and looked great, I think the ponte would be fabulous. And from so many of the posts, others think so as well. As I mentioned above, I decided in the 11th hour to make this. My sorority colors are red and white and there is ALWAYS an event I need a red dress for, so this will go to good use.
Conclusion: This is a great dress and the tucks made a nice statement for a simple dress. I definitely plan to make this again and the next time, I won't be racing against the clock to get it done. Actually, I probably will because I always seem to do that.

It's beautiful in red. And you have much more patience and perseverance than I - as I would have given up and chosen something else to wear long before you did. I bet you looked great at your event!
