I wanted to make a skater dress so i choose the pattern because of the fitted bodice and the full skirt. The pattern was relatively easy to follow and I really enjoyed making this dress. I made the dress using a very interesting cotton print (although they recommended duchesse/taffeta) and i have to say I've gotten a lot of compliments wearing the dress.

The pattern came with a belt (to cinch in the waist) but i decided to buy one instead (couldn't really be bothered to make it ). It also came with a pattern for a tulle petticoat to add extra fullness- i tried making it , but failed miserably. I wouldn't recommend the petticoat for a beginner, its time very consuming and frustrating: from cutting, to trying to join the various segments and distributing the fullness (from the gathers). Not for me.

I will definitely be making the dress again, but i will NOT be using the petticoat pattern. There must be an easier to sew up a tulle petticoat....
