Pattern Description: Dress with pleated bodice, 3/4 sleeves, faux button placket and gathered skirt.
Pattern Sizing: 34-46 (European) I fell between sizes but it was easy enough to grade the pattern.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, definitely.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very - despite being in French!!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved that the pattern pieces were printed on proper paper rather than tissue. The instructions were super easy to follow (with a little bit of help from Google Translate and memories of GCSE French at school...). The sewalong dome by Eleonore the designer also helped.
Fabric Used: Cotton in dark brown with a small floral pattern.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added pockets and used an invisible zip rather than a conventional zip. To do this, I followed some of the instructions that came with the Simplicity 2215 pattern. This was the bit that I found the hardest!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I will definitely be sewing this again, I love it! Next time I think I will put the zip at the back of the dress if I put pockets in. I may also do away with the facings and use bias binding instead, just to see the difference. Oh and I think I'd cut the skirt part a little bit narrower so that it's less gathered and billowy (altho I do love it on this version).
Conclusion: LOVE LOVE LOVE! To read more, see my blog entries at http://tybalt-king-of-cats.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/butterbeer-is-rank.html
