Pattern Description: MISSES’ MEDIEVAL DRESS AND BELT: Dress A has princess seams, back eyelets with cording closure and slight train. Belt has purchased trim. Skirt B has princess seams, back opening and slight train. Flickr Pics because I can't get pictures to upload directly on here.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I made quite a few alterations, but The bodice and skirt looked like the picture. This dress has a great silhouette.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I am horrible and did not even glance at the instructions. If I used the cording closure for the back I would have.
Fabric Used: eggplant purple taffeta
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: 1. I redrafted the neckline. I don't like necklines that feel like they are going to fall off my shoulders. 2. I omitted the cording closure. That just seamed like much work. I used a zipper in the back instead. 3. I cut the sleeves right after the elbow and added bell sleeves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I love how easy the dress was, and that it is a blank canvas. I think I may keep it around to use for a canvas for a formal gown.
