Pattern Description:
The perfect knit dress. Pattern Sizing:
8 - 16. I made the 14. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did although I used the short sleeve version with a v-neckline. Click here for more details. Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were easy to follow and I like the tips provided. They are placed where you would want to read them but don't distract from the instruction sequence. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This pattern is a breeze to sew and a snap to fit.
There's nothing that I don't like about this pattern. Fabric Used:
Two dry knits with moderate stretch. Depending on the occasion, this is a good dress to use with an all-over patterned knit.
I can see using a slinky knit would give you a more evening look. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Roll shoulder adjustment
Moved the front of the sleeve closer to the bust to make the bust look slimmer on a full busted person. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I've now made this beauty 3 times.
The first version used a chevron print knit. Here is the first version. Read about what my SIL said about these dresses. Conclusion:
This is such a classic style that's easy to whip up.

persevering said... How splendid and satisfying to make these attractive well-fitted dresses for someone for your SIL who may actually make good use of them. As it appears you are not using the tie-belt the pattern shows with the dress and a short sleeve not the longer (did you use the sleeve of the other view), can you please let us know what length of fabric you recommend for the view you stitched/created? Thanking you for sharing your experiences/skills/knowledge :) 12/16/12 7:24 PM

I've used a polyester knit with some spandex. The tie front wasn't needed because of the fabric print. My SIL didn't like the tie front so I wasn't going to sway her opinion but when she wore these dresses, there was no need for additional fabric where it made no difference. I used the short sleeve on the pattern. I suggest 1.5m in length for 145cm wide fabric.
Thank you for asking. V 12/17/12 2:09 PM
