Pattern Description:
Tapered skirts A, B, mid-knee, have princess seams, left side zipper closure and contour waistline; skirt A has lower back, shaped opening; skirt B has gathered lower back panel. Pattern Sizing:
4-12. I cut a 12 even though I'm normally a 6/8 in view A Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they were very easy. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Installing that invisible zipper! Fabric Used:
A white linen blend. It matched nicely with a jacket I bought from Chadwicks. The main issue I had with this fabric was that it unraveled so easily. Since I don't have a serger I followed the instructions to sew up seams at 5/8 inches then I sewed another seam a 1/4 inch from that and used my pinking shears to remove the excess fabric. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
none Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would sew it again. Maybe I will do the view B next time. This pattern is so distinctive you really can't get a lot of different skirts from this unless you change something in the pattern. Conclusion:
This is an easy pattern for beginners. It sews up pretty fast. I will definitely be sewing this up again.
