Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
Fabric Used:
An angora/wool sweater knit from Mood fabrics.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
First, I added a few inches on the front overlap, so that I could wear it to work. The pattern is rather low-cut.
Second, I had to remove about 6" from the waist after making it up. It is not very slim under the bust, and I am.
This was my first sweater knit experiment and I learned a lot. For example, if you do not use clear elastic under gathers, they don't end up as gathers. Instead, the non-gathered side of the seam stretches out, and you have a messy wobbly spot. One shoulder looks terrible, and the other is great because I only used the clear elastic on one. I used the elastic also on the neck band instead of the recommended bias binding, and to stabilize the waist band.
I also had problems with stretching on the hem. You can see in the photo that it is stretched out. I do not have a walking foot or roller for my machine, and I believe that might have helped. |

Very pretty - the colour is beautiful and looks wonderful on you. I wonder if holding a steam iron ABOVE the hem would help with the wrinkling, which I saw only because you mentioned it.
