12.17.12: added a couple 'on me' shots at the bottom of review

Pattern Description: Misses Unlined Jackets & Coats: Loose-fitting, unlined jackets or coats have front extending into collar, front princess seams, and two-piece sleeves. A: side-button front and elastic loop closing. I made view A.

Pattern Sizing: XS - XXL. My pattern contained XS - Med. I made the Small.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I believe so.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Super easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I'm all about a cool collar; love anything that has a little drama at the neckline. No dislikes.

Fabric Used: From EOS - Italian doubleface wool blend, coating weight, gold w/gray, flecks of black. Collar is faux black Arctic fox from Fabric.com. Buttons from Joanns. Thread from Superior Thread - So Fine....great thread.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added an inch to the upper back. Design changes - I topstitched all seams to control the thick selvedges on the inside and add a little more interest. I serged all the lower edges using the bottom stitching on the right side of the fabric. I tacked the fur down all around the inside so I wouldn't have fur facings flying. This was my first time working with a long fur. Before sewing I trimmed all the fur from the seam allowances which made construction super easy and much neater.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I probably would sew this again...it would be super cute using a sweater-type fabric. I recommend it as a cute sweater or jacket depending on fabric.

Conclusion: I love this as a jacket I will wear with jeans and a white button-down. The fit seems true to size. You might want to double-check the circumference of the sleeves before cutting out. They are a little on the skinny side.

Thank you thank you for all your detail shots that confirm that great big picture look. Incredibly helpful tips on sewing long-hair fur too. You'll love wearing this and looking foxy!

Absolutely stunning. You picked a drama full design. It's truly amazing. A sweater fabric version would be great but you've started with a winning look.

Yes, clearly this pattern is suddenly going to start selling like hotcakes. Spectacular--and I love the narrow sleeves, they are so hard to find these days.
