I liked the pattern enough to try the halter neck version immediately afterward. I decided to ignore the facing this time and instead do a full lining of everything below the bust (which already has a lining in the pattern). I still used interfacing on the back to give it a bit of stiffness. I also used an invisible zipper.
It took a lot less time to make this time (isn't that always the way?). I do agree with others that the bust seems to sit better and is less gappy in this version. I reckon it's an incredibly flattering cut of a dress.
One of the most fun parts of this pattern is choosing the ribbon to line the bodice and use as straps! I made sure to choose something wide and soft enough so it wouldn't cut into my neck.
Love the dress! Great choice of fabric.
