Pattern Description: Semi Fitted Batwing Princess Seam Tunic Top. Tunic Front on Mannequin Tunic Back on Mannequin
Pattern Sizing: XSM-SMALL-MED. I cut the small in view C.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think so, considering the illustrations and line drawings on the pattern envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, I think so. With only a few pattern pieces, it took me just a few hours to cut and sew this. I even made it before the football game my husband was watching was over!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like everything about this style: the tunic length, the narrow sleeve, the dolman batwing sleeve, the fast construction, everything!
Fabric Used: An abstract zebra and sheer mesh knit of some sort of man made fabrication from Joann Fabrics. I actually really like this fabric for the animal and sheer parts, but it would work better for this style top if it was a bit stretchier.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The only thing I did differently was to make the lower sleeve as Sew Red Robyn did with this pattern by tracing the lower sleeve doubled over like a mirror image less the hem allowance, sewing up the side seam, turning through, then attaching as instructed instead of making a hem on the sleeve bottom for a nicer sleeve finish. Genious! Thank you Sew Red Robyn!
I should have also done the neckline as Robyn did using a binding strip as it came out a bit wavy just making a hem. Hopefully some steaming in this area will help eliminate this.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would sew it again, I love this top! I would highly recommend this to others for a cute, fast and easy tunic top.
Conclusion: Great Top!
