Pattern Description: Semi-fitted, skirt has lined upper sections with side front and side back seams, invisible back zipper and very narrow hems. B and C: seam detail on lower sections. C: wrong side showns on single-layer bands and flounces.
Pattern Sizing: 6-14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were excellent. I followed them exactly.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? My client loved the look of this skirt.
Fabric Used: Taffeta
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I only shortened the front hem by 5 inches. My client is SHORT. She didn't want to change the back length at all.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will make this again for another client if they requested it. I do recommend it if you love this style.
Conclusion: This was a very well drafted pattern.
The only thing I will caution you about is the hem. The instructions actually leave the hemming for last. If I made this again I would do a narrow hem on each piece BEFORE all the ruffles are attached. You run a GREAT risk of sewing your ruffle to the hem if you hem it AFTER the ruffles are attached.
This skirt REALLY went together well. It is VERY well drafted.
My client truly loved it!

Breyan said... Thanks for sharing your review! I purchased this pattern and have cut the fabric about a month ago, but am just getting ready to sew. I was a bit concerned about the length of the top part of the skirt in comparison to the photo, but I made a muslin of that part and felt okay with it landing just below the bum... we'll see how it goes. I really appreciate you sharing!! 1/3/13 5:07 PM
