Pattern Description:
This is a very cardigan with a lot of drape. Both sides of the fabric will show on this.

Pattern Sizing: I made a medium and I was swimming in it.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Okay, I admit that I really need great instructions. When cooking, I need "Turn oven on." as step #1, so it might not hold much weight that I was confused. But the way the garment was constructed (at least the way I thought the instructions said to do it) didn't make sense to me.....more on that later

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
two things I didn't like: It was REALLY hard to size it for petite (I'm 5'2") Because you need to flip the fabric to get that drapey look, I couldn't figure out where to shorten it before I cut out the pattern.. I ended up waiting until just before finishing the edges, then I hung it on a hanger and started cutting like I was a hairdresser.

The second problem I had was figuring out how to do the edges. If I read the instructions correctly, (and I read it a ton of times, but things don't always get through my thick head) then it had you turning down the neck edge in the back, then sewing all the way around. By the time you get from the side, around the back and back up the other side where the fabric is flipped, the narrow hem is on the outside. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what to do when I reached the left shoulder and the seam that went over needed to match up with the seam that went under.
So I tried a rolled hem on my serger, and it didn't look very good because it gave me that lettuce effect.
I really wanted to succeed at this one, but I eventually gave up. I'm going to try a similar pattern, Silhouette 95, which has the same flip, but I think has a yoke at the top that will eliminate the edging problem.

Fabric Used:
ITY knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Well, it looked like it had a very bad haircut. My "alteration" was pretty uneven.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Not unless someone holds my hand and tells me where I went wrong.

Conclusion:
I now understand the strong desire to only post success stories, but I learn so much from all the honest reviews, I figured I would publish my "fail."

Don't give up. This looks like one of those very loose-fitting garments that would be cute in the right size. I also love the color.

J. Jill has a draped pullover sweater just like this pattern selling for $89. Wear yours and feel proud. http://www.jjill.com/jjillonline/product/itempage.aspx?item=TK059C&BID=332990912&h=M&sk=M&pfid=2452

It doesn't look bad at all. I made this and had similar issues with turning the edges and the sizing. I wear it anyway and always get compliments because its such a unique design.
