Pattern Description: Knit cardi with double frill on front edges

Pattern Sizing:StyleArc patterns are one size per which is nice as it eliminates the need to cut out a specific size or to trace.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes, except my frill seems a bit wider in real life than on the pattern picture.

Were the instructions easy to follow?Very. Sometimes SyleArc instructions are very minimal but these were comprehensive.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I have made several StyleArc patterns and always like them. I love the weight of paper they use. The fit seems good and the sleeve length was just right.
I hate doing all that gathering the old-fashioned way and feel that I did a rather poor job of distributing them. Next time, I'm going to learn to use my ruffler!

Fabric Used:A cotton knit that has been in my stash forever. Don't know where or why (since this color is not in my closet!)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I found it unnecessary to ease the sleevecap as it fit perfectly going in flat.
I cut some of the width off of the "frills". I would recommend deciding how wide you want that ruffle from the get-go. It was a little fiddly having to shave off width after it was attached.
I'm not sure that I totally understand the purpose of the darts on the front which are covered by the frills.
I made this almost entirely on the serger and used my coverstitch for the hem. The edges on the frill are left unfinished.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is an easy and nicely drafted pattern. Since I have made the Jalie pleated cardi a few times, I don't see needing another one of these.

Conclusion: Easy for beginners and a quick sew!

I received this pattern as the freebie-of-the-month and must admit it didn't interest me much...until I saw yours. Charming!

I too received this as the free pattern of the month. I liked it but now seeing yours I LOVE IT! Your ruffles look much wider than on the pattern drawing even though you cut them down and yours look so much more appealing.

Amazing coincidence! I have just finished making this cardigan in the same colour but, with short sleeves for summer! I have also made a long sleeve version too in grey wool modal. I didn't have any trouble with my frill widths. My only thoughts might be the fabric type used, my fabrics were quite drapey. I'll have to summon the courage to do my first review so I can show you!

Just beautiful. You've convinced me to take the plunge and make this my first Style Arc purchase. Do you hem all those ruffle edges or are they left raw?

the ruffle edges are raw. I hemmed the bottom with my coverstitch machine.

Like Karla, I got this free with my pattern purchase last month and felt ho-hum about it...but seeing it made up has convinced me to make one too. Pretty!

Very cute, Cissie! You're right to use the ruffler next time - ruffles in a jiffy!

That is gorgeous. It reminds me of a very expensive anthropologie cardigan from a couple of years ago.

I got this as a freebie with my first-ever StyleArc order - love to hear that the sleeves didn't need any easing! Thanks for the helpful review. Yours is gorgeous; this may be my first make of the new year!
