I've reviewed this before, but wanted to do a new review since I used cotton instead of flannel and yes, it made a difference.
Super easy pajama/lounge pants for the entire family, this pattern only has 1 pattern piece that you cut out twice. Add elastic and hem and you have a pair of loose, comfy pants to sleep in or wear around the house when you aren't planning on going anywhere. In fact, DH is currently wearing his flannel version that i made for him last year!
I opted NOT to put the tie on the front because it really serves no purpose and is simply decorative. As someone who sometimes sleeps on her stomach, having a tie in front would only cause discomfort, so really, wh at was the point?
I made my pair out of Baltimore Ravens fabric since they are my home team (and to antagonize DS - his Steeler pants were reviewed earlier this year), and I made DHs pants of out fabric that has all of the Avengers on it. With DHs pants, I forgot to flip the pattern piece since I had to cut them 1 at a time instead of having the fabric doubled - all because it was a directional print {sigh}. With any luck, because the pants are so loose and relaxed, this won't cause a problem with how the pants actually fit.
This is part of our yearly Christmas tradition, and I actually start shopping for fabric a year in advance to make them. It's something small, but I've been doing it ever since my son's first Christmas (he's now 12!) and I will continue it until they no longer want them. |
