I made this apron for my sister for Christmas. You have to draw it yourself given the dimensions, but it's just rectangles so it's all good. My local Jo-Ann is going out of business and I got the fabric on sale. I'm an advanced beginner/intermediate seamstress so I was able to figure out the instructions from experience, but if I were an absolute beginner I would have been a little frustrated by a few of the instructions. For example, the instructions say "Pin pocket to centre front of apron piece, 5 cm (2 ins) from upper edge. Edgestitch side and lower pockets in place. Pin pockets to apron, 7 cm below upper edge and 10-15cm to each side of centre front. Edgestitch pockets in place.
Huh? So I pin and stitch them to the center, then move them and stitch them again somewhere else?
Anyways. I just looked at the picture and drawings and it was pretty easy, since I've done similar stuff before. If you need drawings for each step, however, get out the seam ripper.
In the end, it's a cute apron, very basic, very functional. Recommended.
P.S. My BF helped me make this custom dress form with duct tape using the Threads Tutorial! |
Thanks for posting, as it makes me think that making up this apron would be a good beginning to reinitiate my sewing, particularly with Burda.
