Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy! The only mistake that I made had to do with the buttons. You may notice that I have three buttons instead of four. My sewing machine's auto button hole function was not cooperating and I made a mistake in the spacing of the bottom buttonhole. In the end, the garment looked better with just three buttons.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It was really easy to make in an evening.
Fabric Used:
Cotton flannel from Joann's. It was soft and very festive looking!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not use an interfacing. I also used the same fabric for the front and back. In the future I might make the back into one piece of fabric. I didn't fool with the tie in the back or welt pockets as I was making this for an almost 4 year old and didn't know if it would fit him at all.
According to his measurements, he needed a size medium. However, the vest is a tad too short and big in the middle. He is long in the torso and I will need to lengthen the pattern by one or two inches (42 inches tall - usually wear 4T). I have to make the same adjustment for my clothes
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! This may become a yearly tradition for us.
Conclusion:
Definitely recommend for others! I am inspired by the other reviews for this garment and would like to try a tie in the near future.
So cute!
