What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Liked that it's quick and easy to make. Pattern calls for using fleece or boiled wool and finishing the edges is optional. I did nothing to the edges and they look great. However, I did cut out the fabric with a rotary cutter to make sure all my edges were perfectly straight and smooth as I knew I wouldn't be finishing them.
Fabric Used:
Used red Winterfleece velour from Fabric.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not add the pockets which are sewn into the side seams. If you do add the pockets I would suggest using a coordinating thinner fabric like a poly. I think using the fleece would have added to much bulk to the side hip area.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would recommend it as it was so quick to make.
Conclusion:
I love wearing red especially at Christmas. I think it was the photo of the jacket in red on the front of the pattern envelope that drew me to buy it. Had it been a line drawing I probably wouldn't have given it a second look. So I am glad Kwiksew had the cover photo they did as I love the finished jacket and loved wearing it on Christmas. The drapes always come back to their same folds while wearing the jacket I like that you can move around in it and bend over but do not have to readjust it.
