| Pattern Description: Misses Dress, Top - wrap
Pattern Sizing: 8-18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. I made the dress.
Were the instructions easy to follow? No, I had to read every step at least 5 times! But that might be because I'm way out of practice.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked that it was simple to make, and has a nice simple wrap detail under bust. Disliked the confusing pattern instructions; don't know if I'd choose Burda again.
Fabric Used: I used a polyester knit, which has turned out to be a bit finer that I'd have liked (tends to show my lumps and bumps), but it was the first thing I've made in many years and in some ways was a practice thing. Next time I make it, I will look for a double knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lengthened the skirt by 2 cm and it is perfect! I added 2 cm to the bodice to cope with my bust, although I've since seen on PR that there's a way to do FBA (on my to-do list to learn how!). The bodice lengthening made the armholes a little wider than I'd prefer, as I simply added 2cm to the shoulders of the front pieces of the bodice - but it's not too noticeable.
I also added a press stud to the crossover of the bodice to keep it in place, but it pulls a bit, I think because of the fabric. I've seen in some reviews where people have used clear elastic, and I'll look into that for next time.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes.
Conclusion: I've had lots of compliments on the dress just in the couple of times I've worn it. It's the first time I've used stretch fabric, and it was a wonderful learning curve for me, using a twin needle, etc. A lot of the time was spent discovering that my 25 year old machine can do more than I knew!

Sorry, I don't know why the photo is sideways and can't work out how to fix it, but clicking through to Flickr is right way up.

Congratulations, Lisa, on your first PR review. You are certainly in the right place now that you're getting back in the groove of sewing. Don't forget to use the "Conversations" portion of this group to ask questions and get recommendations. Everyone is super helpful. Your dress really is lovely. I love surplice knit dresses and hadn't seen this particular pattern. Way to go!! :)
