Pattern Description:
This pattern was a short dress with lining and ruffles and a princess bodice i think it's called.
Pattern Sizing:
i made a size 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes it did, except it was hard to get the ruffles to look like the picture, and i did the ruffles a little differently.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
yes they weren't too complicated, except the ruffles were a little confusing to me, if i can do it, u can i consider myself still a beginner, but i have made 5 dresses, so maybe im an advanced beginner haha. although, dresses are all ive made so far, they're alota fun this is my 5th dress ive made.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i liked mostly everything about it except the way the ruffles were supposed to be made, but it might have been because i used satin. i surged the ends then folded them over twice and it just got really thick, and i didn't even understand how i was supposed to really do them but nothing was working and i had a hard time sewing something so curvy on satin. anyway, instead, i made two pieces for each ruffle, put right sides together and sewed them like that, then put them right side out and ironed. Then i put them on the dress. this worked out a whole lot better for me, and it wasn't bulky like i thought it would be..
Fabric Used: i used satin on the bodice, theres ribbon on the midriff, and satin with chiffon overlay on the skirt. i love chiffon
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
i only changed the ruffles a bit as mentioned above.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
yes i would sew this again, i really like how t turned out, also, i love how the lining is set up. i think sometime ill make this again and make it a reversible dress, without the ruffles, or have ruffles that i can Velcro, or button, on and off haha, because the lining is made and sewed exactly like the outside, i think it would work great. i just need a 2 way zipper or it could be a pull over. i would recommend to others.
Conclusion:
i made this dress for christmas and it worked out greatly and had alota fun with it!

i also didn't bother with the large hem line saddle stitch that was supposed to be on the skirt, i didn't feel it was necessary.
