Pattern Description:
Misses' & Plus Size dresses in two lengths with individual patterns for slim, average and curvy fit and B, C, D cup sizes for miss and C, D, DD cup sizes for plus sizes. Amazing Fit Collection by Simplicity.
Pattern Sizing:
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, instructions were really easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked how the instructions guided you through fitting the garment to your body type using basting stitches. Although it was a pain with all the extra work, the dress now fits me really well.
I really like the form and fit of the sweetheart neckline. It is just low enough to be acceptable and flattering.
Fabric Used:
Quilting cotton - which I try to stay away from for dresses but I think it actually worked pretty well for this pattern.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made View C with the halter top but after making it realized that 1) I don't like halter tops and 2) it didn't fit so well like that. Luckily the straps were long enough to cross them in back and sew them down.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. I really like this pattern and might make it with the short or long sleeves.
Conclusion:
Comfortable, versatile pattern. Blog post here.
Beautiful fabric choice!
