Pattern Description:
Misses' coat, jacket and cape in two lengths with front variations sewing pattern. Project Runway Collection.
Pattern Sizing:
4-12. I believe I made a 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, I suppose it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Not really. Once you figured out how to read them, they were decent. But this Project Runway inspired pattern collection made it difficult. They try to encourage you to mix/match different styles from the pattern but I don't think they do it in a straightforward fashion. I had to go back later and cut out more pieces since it wasn't clear and the back was confusing on how much fabric I need to make a particular view.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Like: construction wasn't terrible once I figured out the instructions.
Dislike: The shoulders on the cape didn't fall very well and weren't flattering.
Fabric Used:
Navy wool coating.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made up my own way of finishing the arm openings on the cape.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No. There are other coat/cape patterns out there that are easier to follow and have more design elements and I would recommend one of those.
Conclusion:
Product turned out alright but would have been much faster with better instructions.
