Pattern Description:
Girls' raglan sleeve shirts and pull-on pants. The View A pullover shirt has a round neckline with a ribbing neckband and side hemline slits. The View B shirt has a zipper front, patch pockets and a hood. The pants have slightly flared legs and elastic in casing at the waist.

I made 2 of View B, the hoodie, as part of an ensemble for my two younger cousins for Christmas!
matching jackets

Pattern Sizing:
XS (4-5), S (6), M (7-8), L (10), XL (12-14).
I traced off a S with an XS width through the body. The two girls I made this for are the same size but slender and both wear RTW 6 clothing.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Mine is much cuter . I added machine embroidery and applique on the pockets as I wanted it to match the dress and leggings I also made. KS pattern illustrations are never exciting but I find them to be a good representation of basic garment shape.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very much so! I have made jackets with separating zips before but the instructions were great and this would be a great jacket pattern for a beginner. Everything went together really well.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Very well drafted, easy to embellish and looks RTW!

Fabric Used:
Very soft teal velour I picked up at a fabric outlet - nice drape and stretch and oh so comfy!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added machine embroidery/applique to the pockets before construction. I didn't get the size of the embroidery quite right so I had to slightly enlarge the pockets. I also had to piece the pocket facing because I didn't plan ahead for the embroidery! It looks fine though.
pocket placement

I adding a facing to the zipper after reading Erin D's review. I love how finished the inside looks. Facing and size tag

I finished all the seams with my serger for a clean look. The instructions only had you topstitch the pocket and zipper but I added additional topstitching. I topstitched the sleeve seams (holding the SA towards the sleeve), I added an extra topstitch on the hood and I topstitched the neck seam. Topstitching
I added my label to the back, under the hood and a size tag attached to the facing for a very RTW look. One jacket has the flower appliqued in pink thread and a pink separating zip, the other has teal zip and applique. They are the same size, for cousins, who live in different states but I still thought this was a nice touch. Also, I only had one teal zipper!
after inserting zippers

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes. I am not sure when I will make it again but if I needed a hoodie pattern, I would pick this out again!

Conclusion:
Great for beginners, looks very RTW and was the perfect touch to complete my plan for my cousins outfits!
This is part of my entry for the Sewing for Children contest, the other pieces will be reviewed later today.
