| Pattern Description:
Description from the pattern envelope: "Misses' Unlined Jacket and Dress in two lengths. Dress with empire waist has either low square or cowl neckline, front and back bodice darts and back zipper closure, hip length jacket has notched collar, four button closure and bust and waistline darts."
Pattern Sizing:
Multisized pattern. I made the jacket in a size 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, minus the shoulder pads.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, the instructions were easy to follow. I did have to re-read the instructions a couple of time when it came to sewing the under collar, collar and facing pieces. But that is more about fatigue on my part rather than poor instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love that I found this pattern again. It is from McCall's NY Collection from the late 1990s. It was a pattern that I had back in the day and I loved the dress. I never made the jacket when I first had this pattern but it was always on my list of want-to-makes. The pattern is lovely but it wasn't designed for my generous hips. I has happy with the fit in the bust and waist area, I could have used a wee bit more room for my hips. I did have to let out the side seams to correct this issue.

I shortened the length on the sleeves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably will not sew it again but I would recommend this pattern to others. If you want to practice sewing darts, this is the pattern for you! The jacket pattern has a total of ten darts! It does give the jacket a lovely shape. The dress has some interesting bust darts.
